In my last blog post (quite a few weeks ago…ahem…I know) I wrote all about how things were going to be better! How I was going to be a better blogger. Yeah…that went out the window. But that’s okay! I’m not perfect and so I can’t expect that my blogging will be perfect. But I can give you a couple of updates, nonetheless!
First – the Rouggly bump is almost 32 weeks along! I can’t believe that it’s been 8 months! Even more unbelievable is that we’ve only got around 8 weeks left! Sethy and I need to finalize some birthing plans tonight as well as start thinking about getting our hospital bag packed! Weird! We take our hospital tour this coming Wednesday which should be interesting and help with some questions about the birthing plan. I’m really thankful that Kaiser does “rooming in” with all their babies – so that’s at least one battle we won’t have to fight.
People have asked us a lot if we’ve gotten the baby’s room all set up and stuff, and the easy answer is no. See – we’re planning on having the baby sleep with us for the first few months in a pack n play or in our bed. Yes…we are those crazy people who plan to co-sleep. So since we really don’t need a room for the baby right away, and since we don’t know what we’re having, it’s a lot easier to just forgo doing the baby’s room. Instead – my nesting decided to rear it’s ugly head in our kitchen. Yup – we remodeled our kitchen. And let me just say that I am absolutely IN LOVE with our new kitchen. It’s not quite done – there are a few things here and there that need to be finished up, like touching up paint and adding the baseboards, but by and large it’s DONE! And it is so much more organized and livable! We might actually be able to have a high chair in there now! 🙂
I’ve just about completed one full school year working at an Higher Education institution! I can’t believe how fast the time has gone by! It’s been overall a WONDERFUL experience! I’ve loved every minute of it and I just get these daily confirmations that student development is where I am supposed to be! I work with some amazing people, both in my department and across the campus! The students are getting a bit antsy this week because it’s finals week, but it’s true that staff get a little antsy at this point as well! I’ve been just as busy (granted – in different ways) as they have, so I too, am WAY ready for a break!
I think that’s as good as it gets at this point…finishing up a school year…finishing up growing a baby…finishing up our kitchen…There’s a lot of finishing in my life, but the end for all these is near!
ps…we just found out that our wonderful parents are buying our stroller for our baby!! BOB to the rescue!
