Again…life keeps getting in the way and so I skipped Week 13. But the good news is, it’s probably somewhat similar to week 12 and week 14 – so on to week 14 I go But just FYI, the pic above is from Week 15.
How big is the baby?
This week, our little nugget is about the size of a lemon! There are lots of different blogs that say different things about what size the baby is, but it’s pretty much about the length of a lemon from crown to rump. For this part of the pregnancy, the baby is measured from the top of it’s head to it’s bottom. In just a few weeks, they’ll start measuring the baby from the top of it’s head to the bottom of it’s little toesies! I am also starting to show a little bit…finally. I am no longer just bloated, but bloated AND with a smidge of a baby bump I’ve also started to finally take some pics of the bump, now that I am feeling a bit better about its bump-age, not bloat-age.
What I’m eating
Food this week has been a bit hit or miss for me. I’ve been eating a better variety of things, including veggies. I’ve been loving fruit this week too. However, this week, I’ve had to say good-bye to Chick-fil-A. Seth loves that place, and I used to but after this last experience, I have had to realize that I can’t “Eat more chikin” anymore. The past few times I had been it didn’t make me feel wonderful. I tried eating a variety of things, but it kept making me feel yucky. Then this last time, it was bad. I hadn’t felt so nauseated in a while. It sounded so good, and tasted pretty good, but the aftermath was everything but good. Oh well…I suppose I’ll have to learn to fry my own chicken. It can’t be that hard, can it?
How I’m feeling
As I said, I am finally starting to feel like I am not just bloated, but starting to get a baby bump! I am feeling pretty good – minus still feeling a bit tired here and there. This week, Seth decided to try and listen to my tummy just to see if he could hear the baby. While he couldn’t hear the baby exactly, if I am quiet enough, he can hear the baby moving around in there! He says it sounds like bubbles! It made me really excited to finally start feeling this little nugget move! It’s still a couple of weeks away, but judging by our first ultrasound it should be a mover and a shaker! Seth still listens to my belly every couple days, and my heart still melts for him every time. He’s going to be such a great dad.
What I’ve bought
Well, I can safely say I am starting out this child’s wardrobe well. I’ve bought about 10 onsies, a super cute sweater, and of course the pair of baby converse that we used to tell our families. The Nugget also got some great Christmas presents too! It got some more sweet clothes, a few toys, and a wonderful handmade sweater that I just melted over when I got it. This week, we went to visit some family at Disneyland for a day, and we decided to get the Nugget it’s first stuffed animal. We settled on the most adorable Eyore toy that is soft and precious. I might have to take it from the Nugget though because it’s so soft, I love to sit on the couch and rub it’s ears while I watch TV. I hold it as a pray for the baby and sleep with it next to my pillow. It’s become my visual reminder of my Nugget soon-to-be, without being able to yet feel him or her moving around in there. Here’s a couple pics as to what we’ve got:
